A bubble incoming

Rubin Basha

A bubble incoming, is my feeling since the first day I heard the term Vibe Coding.

And to be honest, all the focus is in the software development branch. But actually AI has gone to disrupt every area of intellectual work. In every area it is not a replacement for real earned expertise.

You can get a super car after writing just two lines, but to drive that car you need to learn and get a drivers license. The same analogy applies to software.

AI gives you a shiny prototype. But when real demand is there then scaling, performance optimization, security etc suddenly enter the attention span. That is where expertise cannot be generated.

I once gave AI the task to produce a diary app...

Mind you, I did give it a rough structure and described how the main parts should work together. I just did not specify too many details.

Basically: AI, MAKE IT WORK, DO IT FAST, NOW.

And it did.

It created no database to store the records, even though they were clearly relational. It just created JSON and stored it in file storage.

Now imagine having no idea what a relational database is, what the best practices are, totally blindly vibe coding. You see that the app works and think the job is finished. Many technical decisions were already made for you, but you do not even know which decisions were made.

For a quick prototype, maybe storing data like that is acceptable. The problem comes when the prototype gets real demand and nobody owns those decisions.

If you are building something

A new app, a prototype that needs to become a real product, or a team that needs senior hands. Tell me the problem. I will tell you honestly whether we are a fit.
