Developers are artists too

Rubin Basha

I've always felt that being a developer is, in many ways, being an artist.

Our art is unique, it's both a scientific and a creative endeavor.

It's paradoxical, but creativity needs rules to exist.

Without structure, logic, and rules, imagination drifts into chaos, but within them, ideas find form and beauty emerges.

Like artists, we need muses, inspiration, flow, and endless practice to refine our craft. We chase elegance not only in what works, but in how it works.

Think of design: the Nike checkmark or the Apple logo.

Both are incredibly simple, yet they hold immense meaning and recognition.

Anyone can draw them now, but only a few could have seen that simplicity before it existed.

The same applies to elegant code or a well-designed product. Once completed, it looks obvious, but only because someone once saw the invisible simplicity behind the complexity.

How do you define the value of something that looks simple but took years to master?

That is indeed true. We are kinda born with a range of possibilities. That range needs to be discovered though and can be expanded also to some extent. Not everyone is a rockstar, but there are also singers that perform in pubs and those in stages. Coupling the talent with the experience and discipline is how to get gems polished to shine more.

I agree , experience hones the craft. It takes persistence and discipline to push through those breakthrough moments.

If you are building something

A new app, a prototype that needs to become a real product, or a team that needs senior hands. Tell me the problem. I will tell you honestly whether we are a fit.
